Dress/Attire

• Clients spend their days in bathing suits and shorts.
• Shorts and shirts are appropriate shore wear. Beach attire worn away from the shore tends to offend residents. Proper attire (no bare chests or midriffs) in residential and commercial areas.
• Slacks or a sundress would be considered dressed-up for evenings ashore. Men may wish to bring a sports jacket for the rare restaurant that requires them.
• Clients may want to bring more than one bathing suit so that they can wear one while the other is drying.
• Rubber-soled shoes as opposed to hard soles are a must aboard our yachts, so wear boat shoes or tennis shoes.
• Aquatic shoes are convenient for beachcombing.
• Above all, protection from sun is vital - lots of suntan lotion, wide-brimmed hats or sailing caps, and loose-fitting cotton cover-ups.
• For cool and windy evenings, a windbreaker comes in handy.

Taxes and Service Charge

• There is no sales tax in Tortola
• Service charges are often added to restaurant bills.

Tipping

10-15% is generally acceptable if it has not been added already.
