A la Carte Program:

An «A La Carte» list is available for select bases.
The client merely completes this grocery list and the goods will be delivered to his yacht on the morning of their charter. Payment will be collected upon arrival at the base by Visa, MasterCard or local currency.

Prov./Beverage - Service Fee: We've added a service fee for the A la Carte provisioning and beverage orders for all Med bases and Seychelles. The product line has been added in order to add this fee to the contract in Triton.
This product line must be added to the contract upon receipt of the a la carte or beverage list. This fee should only be charged once to each contract regardless if the client orders both the a la carte provisioning and beverages. It does not apply to the Charter Starter Kits or EPP.

Dockside Provisioning Stores:

Full Service Dockside Provisioning Stores are available on our docks, in TORTOLA,
ST LUCIA and MEXICO.

Self Provisioning:

Obviously this is possible at all locations, but in many cases the towns are far from our bases and the stores do not always remain fully stocked.

When self provisioning and having a Moorings crew aboard, the charterer will be charged for all meals for the crew, which will be supplied by our provisioning department or equivalent.

Note: In Tonga, Canouan and Belize we strongly recommend our provisioning options as it can be time consuming and difficult to self-provision. If a client insists on self-provisioning, put comments in the record that the client has been advised of difficulties of self-provisioning.

Beverages:

  • Beverages are available for purchase from all bases.
  • For customer convenience, it is strongly suggested that beverages are ordered via the «beverage selection list» which is sent with the charter paperwork.
  • Beverage lists should be returned at least one month before the charter start date.
  • DO NOT encourage clients to fax their beverage lists unless it is a last minute charter (within 30 days of the charter start date).
  • Taking beverage orders over the phone is discouraged.
  • Beverages can be ordered upon arrival at the base. Please make sure the charterer understands that this may cause some delays at the base.

Accepted Forms of Payments For Beverages:

  • Cash (applicable currency depending on the base)
  • Traveller’s checks
  • Credit Cards

    Beverage Returns/Refunds:

  • Each base will deal with returns/refunds on an individual basis, but the general rule is:
  • No refunds will be issued on beverages or provisioning after the charter.
  • If a client has grossly over-ordered, usually the base will allow beverages to be returned and payment will be refunded less a re-stocking fee to be determined at the time of return, provided the beverage has never been refrigerated or opened.

Advisory:

For charters of more than 10 days we issue all dry provisions for the entire charter at the start. Mid-way through, the charterer will return for fresh meat, fruit and bread. They will also receive more ice and water and a change of linens.

  1. Strongly discourage clients from bringing in frozen foods. There are no facilities for refrigeration after arrival.

  2. WINDWARD ISLANDS: Grocery stores are closed on Sundays and holidays.

  3. ST. LUCIA: No food should be brought into St. Lucia. Only USDA approved fresh food if any food can be brought in. However, a license must be obtained through customs, which is very difficult to obtain.

  4. TORTOLA: It is legally permissible to bring food into Tortola, but there is a customs charge and quite often an excess baggage charge. Discourage bringing food into Tortola (except perhaps small specialities that can fit in luggage). The relatively small planes (Islanders and Avro 748’s) do not have space on full flights for anything but normal luggage and boxes of food may be left for later flights (the airlines have made it clear to us that boxes will be carried only on a space available basis and only certain months of the year).

  5. TONGA: Self-provisioning is not recommended. It is very difficult and time consuming with little variety available.
No meat, fruit or vegetables may be brought in.

  6. TAHITI: stores are closed on Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday.

  7. MEDITERRANEAN bases: we put, at our client’s disposal, a list of products to order ahead of time for all or a portion of the provisions they may need. It is important that the agent returns the list with the orders at least 30 days before the charter start date.
This service is very useful for the Sunday departure since shops may be closed. This list may be useful to the client for buying additional articles as it has been translated into the local language.
Split provisioning, Full provisioning, Easy on the Cook and Self provisioning are services that can be offered only on special occasions such as, incentives, flotillas, groups etc… upon request
